Efficacy of Ultrasonic Hydrolipoclasia in Reducing Abdominal Circumference in Adult Women, Asunción, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Localized abdominal fat is a frequent concern in aesthetic medicine. Ultrasonic hydrolipoclasia has emerged as a non-invasive technique to reduce abdominal circumference without surgery.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of ultrasonic hydrolipoclasia in reducing abdominal circumference in adult women treated at a private clinic in Asunción, Paraguay, during 2023.

Materials and methods: Quasi-experimental, pre–post intervention study. Twenty women with localized abdominal fat received two to three sessions of ultrasonic hydrolipoclasia, including subcutaneous infiltration of hypotonic solution, ultrasound application, and post-treatment lymphatic drainage. Abdominal circumference was measured before and after treatment. Statistical analysis used paired Student’s t-test (p < 0.05).

Results: Mean abdominal circumference decreased from 91.4 ± 5.7 cm to 85.1 ± 5.2 cm, with an average reduction of –6.3 cm (p < 0.001). Ninety percent of patients reported high satisfaction (≥ 8/10). No significant adverse events were reported.

Conclusion: Ultrasonic hydrolipoclasia is an effective and safe method for reducing localized abdominal fat, with high patient satisfaction. It is recommended as a non-surgical aesthetic alternative for body contouring.
